SparkPeople!

I started a "diet" last week. I used all I know from my many Weight Watchers experiences and the SparkPeople website. With SP, I didn't need to write down what I'd eaten. I entered it into their site, and it kept track of the calories, protein, fat and carbs I ate each day. If a food wasn't in their database, I entered its nutritional info.

You want to know how much I lost in the first week? 4 pounds!!!! YAY!

Here are small changes I made:

  • Drank at LEAST 8 cups of water a day
  • Stuck to portion sizes on the nutritional info
  • Had fruit/veggie snacks instead of Wheat Thins/Cookies
  • Had salad and at least 1 vegetable with dinner
  • If I had a carb with dinner, I measured it instead of continuing to load up spoonfuls on my plate

In addition, this week, twice I had meals that were not "diet". We had dinner at our neighbor's, which included ribs, wine and cheesecake. I ate everything, but didn't stuff myself. Then yesterday for lunch, we had hamburgers. Big, juicy hamburgers. I had a salad with mine instead of fries. I'm glad I did, the dressing I had was AWESOME!

I don't think I'll lose 4 pounds again, but hopefully I can continue to lose!

Wow! 4 pounds is great! Congatulations. I need to get my booty on the bandwagon and get rid of these last 12 pounds, but I just like candy, cake, cookies, brownies, ice cream, etc. too much. Keep up the good work!!!!

Mmmmm, me too! And thanks! That's why I'm in this predicament! I want to eat better, but not give things up. I have had a half cup of ice cream (Edy's Slow Churned Light) for dessert every night!
