Ear Infection Number THREE!
Mason has his third ear infection! We're back on the Amoxicillin.
Some good news in all this, we like his new doctor a lot. We went today and the doctor was so great with Mason. Yay!

It seems like the Amoxicillin is doing its thing. I call it "medicine", Mason calls it "mee mee". He hasn't had a fever at all since Monday, so we think the infection has waned.
The sleep is still not where it "should" be. And the happy guy we are usually greeted by is so sad. The teething has been really hard on him. I think all three remaining eye teeth are hurting him so badly. He woke from his nap today crying, and no comforting could help him stop. He stopped when the Tylenol kicked in. Poor saddy.
Mason has his first ear infection! And his first prescription for Amoxicillin! The poor little guy did not sleep well all weekend, and now we know why. I thought it was because I jinxed us when I typed about his sleeping better last week!
Bad Sleep Report:
Friday night he woke up at 12:30 and 5:30. Both times I slept on the couch with him. Saturday he didn't want to even HEAR the word nap! After an hour of nap attempts, I plopped him in the car and headed to Target. He passed out on the way, so I opted for the drive-thru Starbucks instead.
Saturday night, he woke up at 10:30 and was wide awake and irritable. At midnight, Will tried to get him back to sleep (on the couch with him), but he (Mason, not Will) cried for 20 minutes straight. He wanted mama snuggles. Poor Mason, poor Will. He was asleep by 1, and back in his crib at 2:30. He was up again at 3:30, and Will snuggled him on the couch the rest of the night. Sunday's nap was fine, and THREE HOURS long.
Sunday night, he woke up at 9:30 and was wide awake and so very sad. We played Foo Fighters' "The Pretender" (thank you, DVR, his favorite song!) video for him, and then a Baby Einstein video. By the time the video was over, the Motrin had kicked in and he was ready to sleep with Mama on the couch. He slept a long stretch, until he was up for the day at 6:45 today.
This morning he woke up and was radiating heat. He had 101.9 fever. I gave him Tylenol and called the doctor. We got to see her early, and here we are now, with a prescription on our way to Mendville. I feel so badly that his ears hurt and he doesn't have the means to tell us exactly that.
I had to go to the emergency room last night! I sliced open my right palm while washing dishes. A glass broke and cut me. I knew immediately that I needed stitches... It's amazing how quickly and easily you can cut yourself open! We went to a nearby hospital, and were in and out in under TWO HOURS!!! They didn't use stitches, they used Dermabond. It's super glue for skin. The doctor said it would fall off within 5 days. The healing will push it away. Pretty cool!
Here's my hand. The dermabonded spot just looks like a glue patch...
Happy Lee National Denim Day®! Pay $5 (or more) and wear jeans to work! I'm a big supporter of breasts and their health.
