Toys R Us

I went to the toy store after work for Chanukah gifts for the little kids I'll see this weekend. There are some SCARY ass toys in there! Here are a few things I saw...

Cabbage Patch Kids are celebrating their 20th anniversary! That means 20 years ago, my mom drove around the back of Child World and waited for my and my sister's dolls (Judy Essie and Cheryl Hildegard) to be unloaded from a truck. Sounds like a scene from The Sopranos. Then I got a preemie (Sydney Jerald) and THEN I got a Kooza. The CPKs I saw yesterday didn't come in boxes. And they didn't have their birth certificate in a cute little envelope. Their "Birth Certificate" was a folded card tag attached to their arm. Xavier Roberts would not be happy about that. Some of the new ones are very scary. Look at the teeth on this one! And the headband! Crikey!

Bratz? They are Barbies with HUGE heads and HUGE lips and a ton of makeup. I do, however, like their wardrobe!

Winter Wonderwear

For $80, you can have your own Mini Cooper! It's remote control and one-sixth actual size. Features include: move forward, reverse, left and right turning and stopping motions; turns left and right in reverse; opening hook, trunk and doors; working head lights; and realistic interior and engine. The car itself isn't scary, but the man I saw carrying it was SO excited about it, that I was a bit frightened by him.
