"Go Yi-Ya!" (Go Giants)

Mason stayed up to watch the whole Super Bowl with us last night! He had a brief period of fussiness from his gums. A little Tylenol and a half an hour later, he was his happy self. He didn't eat most of the party food, a little clam dip (mostly breadcrumbs) and some pita chips (WITH black bean dip!) and he was happy to be eating like the big people.

Here he is with his Aunt Jackie, pre-party, in his Giants tee (gown):

And here he is last year. Look at them arms!!!

Beach Outing & Giants!

I wish I had the camera with me today. Will, Mason and I went to Treasure Island beach. It was SO foggy! When we got down to the beach, you couldn't see the buildings by the road. The beach was pretty deserted, except for seagulls, and there were so many cool photo ops! Argh!

We watched the Giants game at Fergs this evening. Mmmm, wings. Mason sat in his strap-on highchair and was so great. He waved at everyone, as usual, and clapped when everyone else did, and did touchdown when asked to! Go Giants!

Go Giants!

Yankees Spring Training

We went to see the Yanks practice yesterday! We saw lots of recognizable Yankees, Will recognizes a lot more than me! Derek Jeter gave his bat to a girl after batting practice! I made a photo album of a lot of pictures, here.

Superbowl XL

This Sunday is the Superbowl! YAY! Well, yay for having people over, and making a lot of food, and the commercials! Who is in it this year? The Steelers and the Seahawks? (I had to look that up on superbowl.com.) Bleah.  I don't like football, but I like having a Superbowl extravaganza party! This will be a small, cozy extravaganza, since we live in a new place, and don't have too many local people. But it's quality, not quantity, and our people are definitely quality!!!!

Here's my menu. I hope it's enough! My quality guests will bring the dessert.

beer, sangria
Crackers, Tortilla Chips, Potato chips
Cheese - cheddar, parmesan
Veggies - carrots, celery, cucumbers, peppers
French onion soup dip
Mango salsa
Homemade guacamole
Black bean hummus
Clam Dip
4 Layer Mexican Dip
Mini Hot Dogs
Muffaletta
Turkey Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
Wings

Tropicana Field

We saw 2 Yankee games this week at Tropicana Field. What a weird place. It's a dome, it looks like a spaceship from the outside, and a warehouse on the inside. Even with the Yankees there, they didn't even fill it to half capacity. Monday night there were only 17k people there. So sad. And it was quiet. I'm used to the maniacal roar at Yankee Stadium. Tropicana should be called "Library Field". Will was doing his usual yelling during the game, and it sounded EXTRA loud. Wednesday's game was a little louder and crowded, but no where near full. Here's the stadium...

Yanks In It Again

I have some issues with the current ALCS series. Mostly my issues are about how angry those Boston players and management are. They all need anger management! Plus they could use a public speaking coach. PLUS they all need a whole lot of grooming. What are they, HIPPIES?!?

My dad emailed me last night about the series. Here's his take on it...

Er-

At first, I was against the playoffs. I mean why not have the AL and NL teams w/ the best win/loss averages play a World Series? I thought it was simply a way to sell more beer, hot dogs and TV time. But these past couple of games have been fantastic. I'm sitting at the edge of the couch and hardly using the remote for three hours!

Now, I see it as the best of the best. It's more fun to watch than the entire season. And the Series haven't even started. Tim McCarver needs a gag. He must have talked about Kurt Shilling's ankle for half the game and then talked about it the next day!! Where the heck is Phil Risutto? The first time I heard them mention the Scooter, I expected Phil.

The Yankees look so sharp in their uniforms. Who the heck is dressing the Reds? George Costanza? It doesn't seem that two of them guys have the same uniform. I wouldn't be surprised if next year there is a reality show Queer Eye for the Boston Reds Guy. They all need haircuts, shaves, batting helmets.....do they even bathe??

Well I can relax tonight. Today is a travel day. Thank you for your time!

Love, Daddy David

GO YANKEES!!!

Theeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win!

They always do that! Just when you think they're down and out, they belly up to the bar and perform like it's their job or something! I knew it would end with a home run! Yay Aaron Boone!
